Just got back from Akron Comic Con in Akron Ohio. I want to give a big shout out to Michael Savene and his wonderful staff for putting on a great show. The floor was packed from open to close Saturday, and even Sunday had an amazing turn out, that no one starting packing up til 10 mins before the show ended. So congratulations guys on a job well done.
Not only was the show a lot of fun, but I got to hang out with some of my convention family over the weekend. I stayed with Tina and Rodney Fyke from Hazzum productions (One of AGP sponsors, check out their sponsor link on the home page), Chris Charlton from Assailant Comics, and Stephanie and Sean Forney from Sean Forney Art. Being with friends always makes going to conventions fun, but when I say convention family, that is what I mean, these people are more than friends they are family. We had an amazing time at dinner, and I got to try Thai food for the first time. After that went back to the hotel home, where Rodney and Sean worked on commissions, had a few laughs, played some goofy songs on youtube, and beta tested #pajamacon (This will happen so be on the look out for more info on this one).
On top of all this I got to meet some new contacts, got my new business cards, got tons of amazing photos (which will be posted soon), and got some fresh talent to agree to come on future episodes of AGP (Yippie for the podcast).
All and all I give this year’s Akron Comic Con a 10 out of 10. And if you have never been to this show I highly recommend checking it out next year, because this show is just getting bigger and better, and is one of the few comic related shows left.
