Cincy Comi Con

Hello everyone!

Sorry it has been so long since my last blog post, things have been crazy at my 9-5, pulling 12 hours shifts there, plus some new things have been happening with AGP (more about that to come).

But my convention season has started again. Unfortunately due to my commitment to my 9-5, I had to miss out on DragonCon, insert sad face, but this past weekend Sept. 9-11, I was at the Cincy ComiCon.

First I want to thank Kara Moore, Tony Moore, and Kendall Swafford for putting on an amazing show. One of the things I love best about this show is that is it comic base, everyone there has worked on a comic. Now this is not to say I don’t like multi media shows, but I do love shows that bring us back to basics, and the reason we have comic conventions in the first place.

So what makes Cincy ComiCon so great? Well the staff come to mind first. Kara, Tony, and Kendall have a great team. They make sure all their guests, not just the high profile ones, have something to eat, drink, and if they want to go to a panel, or need to go to the restroom, they will watch their tables for them. This small thing speaks volumes for this convention, because I know for a fact that at a lot of the bigger shows, the little guy gets lost and or forgotten, because of all the celebrities.

Second the atmosphere. The staff here always makes announcements so you know what is going on, from panels, to give-a-ways, to where to find your favorite creators. Also their music was a perfect blend of family friendly and nerd, not too loud that you got blasted when it was on, but not too soft to where you had to strain to hear it. It was perfect. You could still talk to people at your desk, and still enjoy the music.

Of course my favorite part of any convention is getting to see my friends. So many of my closet friends were set up at the ComicCon this past weekend. Tina and Rodney Fyke from Hazzum Productions were there, best part is I got to help Rodney with some Star Wars trivia, Scott Bachmann from Scott Comics was there, which is always a pleasure to hang out with him, Ray Coffman, who advised me about his comic Aurara being #8 on Tokyopop’s website as most read online comic, congrats my friend. Eric & Todd from Broken Icon Studios, who have a toy line and a t-shirt coming out, which is totally epic. Matthew and Lauren Sparks, two of my biggest AGP fans, they are the nicest people you will ever meet, even if Matthew gave me a coloring page of Kraven, the greatest Pokemon hunter of all time, this was a picture of Kraven after killing Pokemon, he was cooking Magikarp with a Charmander tail, wearing Pikachu’s head as a hat, and made an arm band out of Mews, funny and disturbing all in one. And of course one of my best friends Christy Blanch was there, I felt so bad I made her cry, I told her I love her more that Star Wars.

So all and all it was a great show, I got to hang out with my friends, and have a good time.

So if you are looking for a convention that is centered around comic books, you should check the Cincy ComicCon out, I highly recommend it, or course don’t forget also about my show Gem City Comic Con, which will be coming at you April 1st and 2nd 2017 at the Dayton Convention Center, in Dayton Ohio.

Well that is all for now, I will see you all soon. But before I go, I wanted to let everyone know that AGP is now doing live stream let’s plays on Twitch and Youtube, so please come over and watch, but please be advised, we play games like GTA V, so it may not be suitable for everyone.

Until next time, keep living the dream!
